Washington, DC - Levi Thomas Brennan Obituary

Levi Thomas Brennan, musician, scholar and resident of the District of Columbia and Hedgesville, West Virginia died unexpectedly October 25, 2024 at the age of 40 while strolling down 23rd Street, NW, Washington, DC.

Levi is survived by his parents; his wife Mulu Wosine (currently a missing person); his sisters Martha Brennan and Jessica Dearie (nee Brennan).

Levi was born in Dachau, West Germany on February 10, 1984 to Sean Brennan and Jo Ann Brennan (nee Collis). He graduated from Northwest High School Germantown, MD, served honorably in the DC Air National Guard from 2002 to 2009 as a Security Forces Journeyman and Intelligence Analyst in the National Guard Counter Drug Program. He married Mulu Wosine in 2018 whom he referred to as his Ethiopian Queen.

Levi was a devoted husband and avid scholar, musician and Amharic linguist. He loved Ethiopian culture, food, its people and especially studying Amharic. He played guitar extremely well, piano and many other stringed instruments. He studied music theory deeply and was fond of classical music, Byzantine Chant, Bob Marley and Ethiopian sacred singing. He read widely and extensively Greek and Roman literature, French novelists and poets. He loved the Holy Bible, Poe, Dante, Miller, Shakespeare, Baudelaire and the Britannica Great Books. He was an avid runner, martial arts enthusiast, and a crack shot with both rifle and pistol. He was a very spiritual man and daily studied the scriptures in English and Amharic spending hours discussing his insights with his dad. He thoroughly enjoyed sailing the Trinity and wrestling with our dogs Riley and Scrapper. He was active in Celebrate Recovery and in the past AA. He felt all things deeply and was easily touched. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who had the honor to know him.
